Alex and Judi Brazkiewicz formed Holos Healthcare & Training Ltd in 2004 to deliver high quality First Aid at Work training. Alex and Judi between them have over 30 years experience in the Emergency Services and over 40 years training in First Aid and are backed by a passionate team of instructors.

Holos, an Edexcel approved training centre, a member of the Federation of First Aid Training Organisations and of the First Aid Industry Body offers a range of (mainly on-site) training.

These courses range from brief 2-hours introductory seminars, to the 1-day Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) and 3-day First Aid at Work (FAW) - both approved for use in the workplace - to the 5-day Level 2 BTEC First Person on Scene (FPOS) validated by the IHCD & the Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care, Royal College of Surgeons - http://www.holoshealthcare.co.uk/which.htm.

Alex Brazkiewicz

Alex, is a field experienced State Registered Paramedic with over 17 years experience with the London Ambulance Service and prior to that 7 years with the Metropolitan Police Force. He holds his Certificate in Education and Certificate in Paramedic Science, and has been training First Aid for over 20 years. He was certified by the Royal College of Surgeons as a Pre Hospital Trauma Life Support Instructor and was a paramedic assessor for the Health Professions Council for over 10 years.

He also holds Dan grade black belts in Aikido, Kendo, Iaido and Jo and still trains under Mike FINN Sensei, with whom he has studied under for over 20 years. Alex studied Shiatsu with the European Shiatsu School and has qualified from the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine with a 1st Class BSc (Hons) in acupuncture. He has also successfully completed a year long postgraduate course on Chinese Herbal Patent formulae and Tui Na Chinese massage. He currently sees patients at his clinic in Worcester 1-2 days per week (www.wocoh.co.uk) and currently lectures in Anatomy and Physiology at schools and colleges of Complimentary Medicine about 30 days per year



Judi has over 12 years experience with the Metropolitan Police Force where she received a Commissioners Commendation for saving the life of a colleague. She has been a First Aid Instructor for over 8 years, and holds her Certificate in Education and NVQ Assessing Units. Her teaching specialities are human resource specific including personal development, interview techniques and customer care. In addition she undertakes voluntary work as a business mentor helping young people from disadvantaged backgrounds on behalf of the Prince's Trust and is also chairperson of the local committee of the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB). Judi maintains her skills undertaking voluntary work as a community first responder with the West Midlands NHS trust Ambulance Service. Judi is the co-founder of Holos Healthcare and Training.



Terese originally served as a Police Officer in London and in 1997 she joined the London Ambulance Service. After finishing her probation she soon completed the Paramedic Training course and often worked with Alex responding to 999 Emergency Calls. From 2005 - 2008 she worked as a solo Responder on the Rapid Response Units and in 2006 Terese started teaching for Holos on a part-time basis.
Between 2008 - 2013 Terese left the UK and joined the Queensland Ambulance Service as a Paramedic working both in large towns and in remote postings in the outback, mining towns and the tropics. In 2008 she returned to the UK as a freelance Paramedic where she has worked as a Remote / Offshore medic, Bank Staff with East of England Ambulance Service and as a locum paramedic practitioner at a GP surgery. She also continues to teach / assess for Holos on a freelance basis. In addition to her Paramedic qualifications she is also PHTLS, MIRA and ACLS certified and has gained the HSE Offshore Medics certificate and a Paramedic Practitioner qualification from the University of Wolverhampton.


Jim initially served as a Police Officer in Scotland and subsequently as an NHSTD Ambulance Technician and duty officer in England where he still currently serves responding to 999 Emergency calls. He has many years experience in acute management of the ill and injured in the Pre-Hospital area and has over 10 years extensive, wide-ranging experience in teaching First Aid in a variety of work situations. Jim holds a First Aid at Work Instructors Certificate and a D21 Assessing Certificate. He is a National Aquatic Rescue Standard (NARS) First Aid at Work Instructor and is an Associate Member of the Swimming Teachers Association and regularly teaches and assesses for Holos Healthcare. He is currently studying a diploma in counselling.


Tony has been training First Aid for over 7 years and, and gained experience in the Fire Service and as a Royal Navy Medical Assistant. Between the navy and the Fire Service, he was an NHSTD Ambulance Technician with many years' experience in acute management of the ill and injured in the Pre-Hospital area responding to 999 Emergency calls. He holds his City and Guilds in Emergency & Clinical Care and his 7307 City and Guilds Further and Adult Teaching Certificate. He is currently studying for his Certificate in Education.

Matthew BUTTON

Matt is a front-line NHSTD Ambulance Paramedic in one of the busiest stations in the UK, dealing with the acute management of the ill and injured in the Pre-Hospital area. Prior to that he spent over 5 years undertaking Ambulance duties and event cover in the private sector. Matt has been teaching First Aid for over 10 years and has his NVQ C23 and D32 units and in addition hold his BTEC Advanced Certificate in Manual Handling.

Samantha JONES

Since early childhood Sam has been an active member of the Red Cross organisation covering numerous events where she utilised her Fisrt Aid skills many times. She completed her Emergency Medical Technician course in the private sector and provides medic cover on film and television sets. She holds a First Aid at Work Instructors Certificate (specialising in health and safety), has been teaching First Aid for over 10 years and has almost completed the Paramedic Training Programme within the NHS where she responds to 999 calls treating the acute ill and injured patient.


John initially started with HM Coastguard in the mid 70's and then transferred to the Fire Brigade working initially in Tyne and Wear and finally tranferring to London Fire Brigade (LFB). At the LFB he undertook many years front-line duties in Brixton and Lambeth, he became Assistant Divisional Officer responsible for maintanance of training standards and evaluating trainers for the LFB. He finally retired for the LFB and became the Health and Safety Officer for Formula One Management Ltd where his duties send him around the world. In addition to First Aid training he holds his NEBOSH General Certifiate, Manual Handling Instructors certificate and is a member of many proffessional bodies including the Institue of Fire Engineers, IOSH and the Royal Society for the Prevention of Acciedents. John regularly teaches and assesses for Holos Healthcare.

Richard JONES

Richard initially started as a First Aider in the workplace and trained with Holos. He then went on to provide medic cover on film and television sets and has recently been accepted on the NHS Paramedic Training Programme.
