Trauma and First Aid at Work (TFAW) - duration 5 days

Further to courses run for HM Armed Forces and the security industry, Holos are now offering courses utilising this expertise.

The 5-day course is targeted at service personnel coming towards the end of their service and requiring a civilian certification, together with a revision on how to deal with a multiple casualty situation. This course would also be useful to those working in or wishing to go into the security industry.

This 5 day course includes:

  • The 3 day HSE Approved First Aid at Work course
  • Automatic External Defibrillation (AED)
  • Airway Management (including OP airway and Bag Value Mask BVM)
  • Triage and dealing with multiple casualties
  • Massive bleeding control including toumiquets & haemostatic dressings use
  • Fractures and Splinting including the use of Kendrick Traction Device and Pelvic splint
  • Vehicle exrtication including 3 & 4 person techniques, cervical collars and Kendrick Extrication Device

The course relies heavily on practical situations, utilizing mock wounds, hands-on and interactive training methods. There is a maximum of 12 students per instructor.
